The peninsula of Croisic
At about 20 mn from the campsite and from La Baule and its magnificent beach, the peninsula of Le Croisic, is a wild coast full of softness. You can discover its architectural charm of the 16th century. If you need a breath of fresh air, you can take its coastal path. Between sand, rock and sea water, Le Croisic will seduce you with its natural and historical landscapes. In Le Croisic, every Monday evening in July and August, you will find many activities on the quays of the marina. Take a stroll on the nightly craft market, on a festive rhythm. During your visit to the peninsula, you can also visit the Océarium, an exciting trip to meet sharks and coral fish.
A walk or bike ride
Le Vieux Croisic : This tour will make you discover the XVIth and XVIIth centuries along the streets and quays of the old Croisic. Go for a short walk of 1.5 km. Le Chemin des douaniers : This famous path links St-Nazaire and the Mont-St-Michel on about 500 km of hiking trails. On the road, you can discover all the secrets and landscapes of Brittany. Discover the wild coast, starting from Le Croisic, you can reach Le Pouliguen in 9 km, by bike or on foot.
Rural escapade : You will discover the western part of Le Croisic, the rare part of the peninsula where the country advances to the sea without urbanization obstacle. Embark on an escapade in a natural area, dotted with a traditional past on about 5 km.

You can also take advantage of your stay at the campsite to go for a nice horseback ride.

The Tréhic Pier
This jetty with a view on La Turballe will charm you during a stroll at sunset. It is the ideal place to stroll and discover the Breton culture with its fishermen and its boats.
The Briere and its barge rides
During your stay at the campground, don’t miss a visit to La Brière, located less than an hour north of the Loire estuary. If you are looking for adventure, go to the heart of the marsh on a barge. Created in 1970, La Brière is one of the oldest French regional nature parks. This wild territory extends over 49 000 hectares! The Brière Regional Nature Park has a wetland area classified as one of the richest in Europe from a biological point of view. The aquatic environment remains in constant evolution. These marshes exist thanks to the work of previous generations who drew their livelihood from them. Embark on a fun walk with unusual discoveries on board a barge (flat-bottomed boat). During this calm water trip, take the time to listen and discover the nature that surrounds you. Sail to the rhythm of the water and the stories told by local enthusiasts.
Saint-Nazaire, its liners, its industrial site and its history
Less than 20 minutes from the campsite, take a walk and discover the many mysteries of Saint-Nazaire. Discover the submarine Espadon, during its many years of service, it has traveled the equivalent of 17 times around the world! You can admire it in the fortified lock of the port of Saint-Nazaire, with an audio guide. Discover an exceptional maritime heritage! The Submarine Base: a journey into the last century. Discover a place full of history. When you reach the terrace, you will have a beautiful view of Saint-Nazaire, the bridge and the Estuary. L’Escal’Atlantic: the tour has many surprises in store for the whole family. The magic of the place plunges you into the great adventure of the liners. You can also explore the hidden side of the ship: engine room, wheelhouses and cold rooms. This visit will take you back in time, explaining the conditions in which the wealthy and the emigrants travelled.

On the agenda of your visit to Saint-Nazaire: swimming, sunbathing, sand castles… Offered to the west winds, the beaches are sheltered by pines and green oaks. Long stretch of fine sand or small steep cove, among the 20 beaches of the city, you will inevitably find the one that suits you.
- Villès-Martin: the beach in town. It’s easy to get there for a picnic or a lunch break. It is one of the five supervised beaches, with showers.
- La Courance: the surfers’ spot. Sunbathe on a fine sandy beach overlooking a bright blue water. It is accessible to all and ideal for relaxation and water activities. It is also supervised.
- Grand Traict: a corner of the Mediterranean. A small corner of tranquility for those who love calm and wild beaches. However, this tranquility must be earned, as the stairs leading to the cove are a bit steep. Moreover, the beach is not supervised, so we advise you to be vigilant.
La Brière is only a few minutes away from La Baule and offers you a total change of scenery. This visit is a must during your stay at Camping Les Ajoncs d’Or! At less than a quarter of an hour from La Baule, discover the green panoramas. The marshes are spread out as far as the eye can see, and the reflection of the sky offers you a soft parenthesis. In La Brière, you will discover a diversified landscape: myriad of canals, reed beds, meadows… Classified as a Regional Natural Park since 1970, La Brière is a must-see during your vacation in La Baule. The Park is a real ecological wealth, you will be able to meet many birds and take a good look at them.

As you stroll through the town, several atmospheres emerge. During your walk in the small town of Piriac-sur-Mer, you will be pleasantly surprised to discover a rich and diversified heritage. Piriac offers you a natural, architectural, literary and legendary landscape. Breathe the sea air. Known for its healing properties, the sea air will do you a world of good during your stay at Camping les Ajoncs d’Or. During a walk, admire the old houses decorated with hydrangeas and colored roses. Venture into the small streets of Piriac, and get lost in this bucolic village. Follow in the footsteps of famous writers who have stayed here.
